Organize IEP documentation and triennial evaluations and coordinate timelines with Westbrook school administrators.
Maintain current IEPs on each student for staff to access.
Coordinate all IEP quarterly progress reporting from Speech, Counseling, Transition, Education, and OT/PT.
Maintain quarterly reports, IEP and other educational documentation in a student's case record.
Coordinate with an outside agency the delivery of all OT and PT services for Westbrook students.
generate correspondence students' home districts regarding requested annual review meetings, program reviews, and re-evaluation meetings. Coordinate all necessary documentation that is due to the district including the input of information into IEP direct.
Assist in the coordination of FBA and BIP documentation with the clinical department.
Assist the Principal in coordinating the administration and scoring of all Regents and RCT exams.
Assist the Principal in securing student credit counts and transcripts.
Assist the Principal in purchasing curriculum related materials.
Assist with other related duties as assigned by the Principal.

Plan, prepare and deliver instructional lessons that facilitate active learning experiences as the primary teacher or co-teacher in a classroom.
In that role, develop schemes of work and lesson plans.
In that role, assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments.
Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs.
Use relevant technology to support instruction.
Provide 1:1: or small group instruction as needed to support student learning and success in the classroom.
In that role, assess and determine what a student's academic and study skill needs are.
Ensure that IEP goals are reflective of the work being addressed and maintain records to be able to report quarterly on the progress of those goals.
Communicate regularly with classroom teachers and other team members.
Provide instructional and related service consultation in the areas of (but not limited to) supporting specific student performance in the classroom, differentiation of materials, classroom management for a variety of learning styles, how to incorporate IEP goals into classroom learning along with other supports provided by a special education teacher.
Modify and develop daily curriculum needs based on techniques required for individual learning styles as required.
Complete with the input from classroom teachers all IEP Study Skills quarterly progress reports.
Develop new IEP study skills, reading, writing and math goals as appropriate prior to a student's annual review. Responsible for the academic levels and abilities portions of a student's IEP.
Administer and interpret educational testing as required for a student's triennial reevaluation. Write a detailed narrative report and testing summary.
Attend Committee on Special Education meetings, CTPR meetings, team meetings, transition meetings and staff meetings.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Masters Degree
Certification in Special Education K-12 or 9-12.
Knowledge of the CSE process, secondary curriculum and special education.
Experience with students with Asperger's and High Functioning Autism preferred.
Acceptable clearance for State Central Register and fingerprinting as required by the program.
Attending TCI class for certification/re-certification and passing a test upon completion of course is a minimum requirement for employment.
